NEETS.net (formerly Neets.me) is a male-only discussion forum centered around the topic of NEETing. Forum membership is not NEET-exclusive, and the forum is open to everyone including non-NEET individuals.
History
2020
Inception
Founded by the admins SergeantIncel and Master, Neets.me was made public on the 26th of November, 2020 (however records indicate the site was active beginning from late September of the same year).[1][2] NEETS.me launched with an 'Announcements' section, 'Feedback' section and its main discussion forum 'NEET Lifestyle'.[3] Its mod/admin structure largely carried over from Incels.co, comprising of Cerberus (aka SergeantIncel), Master, i_a_m_i, knajjd and Alexanderr.[4] The forum's initial userbase was formed after an announcement by Sergeant on Incels.co.[5] The forum was also advertised on Looksmax.me a few days later.[6] On November 28, the new Off Topic forum, 'The Cafe', was created upon feedback.[7][8] Prior threads unrelated to NEETdom from NEET Lifestyle were moved to The Cafe.[9] User 'Abi No' christens The Cafe with its first thread '1st Thread here', followed by dreadtheblackpill's '2nd thread here'.[10][11]
Year's end
Custom username colors were implemented at the beginning of the month, from a selection of Green, Cyan, Blue, Pink, Red, Orange and Yellow.[12] Christmas holiday theming is implemented upon feedback from Fabio.[13] Reactions to the theme were mixed, with the most salient comments comparing the snow to other bodily secretions.[14] On December 2024, moderator Alexanderr creates a thread asking users about their thoughts on the forum so far.[15] Respondents lamented the lack of user activity and poor site interface, however positively commented on the quality of users on the forum.
2021
Decline in Interest
By the beginning of the year, it was becoming clear that the wave of initial interest and enthusiasm had died down. Many users had either been banned or had left the site.[16] By this time, Alexanderr remained the only active moderator on the forum. The remaining users expressed their growing dissatisfaction at his heavy-handed moderation and the decline in forum activity.[17] Prominent user Abi No is banned and has left the forum permanently. Whether he left on his own accord or was banned for raising the ire of staff members remains uncertain to this day.[18] Kaz formulates a plan to save the site by infiltrating the existing forum animeforums.net and promoting NEETS.me.[19] The idea is not met with much enthusiasm from other forum members. Future moderator Haruhi Suzumiya joins the forum on January 26, kicking off with the thread 'How has your taste in anime evolved?'.[20] Users begin devising strategies to revive the forum. Kaz proposes a belligerent takeover of Looksmax, intending to drive away 90% of the userbase in order to save the remaining Blackpilled.[21] schizocel suggests that a user start posting cryptic messages and images indicative of a mystery or conspiracy linked with real world phenomena in order to gain public attention.[22] Milkistermoo returns in the end of January after a short hiatus and is warmly welcomed back.[23]
Continued Stagnation
Infamous shitposter from Looksmax 'ohwell' joins the forum on February 4.[24] After a flurry of posting, he is permanently banned days later.[25] Billy invites a homeless man from California to join the forum.[26] Looksmax Refugee washes up on the shores of NEETS.me on February 28, making his first introductory thread.[27] By now, users are beginning to conduct their post-mortems of NEETS.me. The various diagnoses of cause of death ranged from a lack of culture, competition with other forums and the banning of the most handsome and famous man on the forum.[28][29] Kaz posts his final? thread before leaving. Sergeant appoints Haruhi as new moderator in early March.[30][31][32] jaded jabble makes his last post on NEETS.me on March 24 and vanishes abruptly from the forum, never to return.
