First World Country, Third World Soul.

Many talk about America being a land of freedom, prosperity, liberty, and democracy, but just how far does that go? In the US, money, material, and status is everything, and chances are you'll be nothing or not as good if you lack the three. Not to add on, that the standard for many people when it comes down is at least we aren't like Russia or Mexico, two countries which deal with instability, dictatorship, and lack of development whilst the US has none of that. We know we've not truly achieved a utopian and free society so we drop our standards very low.

Now here are the facts, the only people who are "rich" and "prosperous" in the US are the top 1% elite. Whilst the Industrialists, Politicians, or CEOs (visible elites) might get a small share of that "prosperity", they are still locked in a system of meaningless grind just like the rest of us. The US as a state might be financially well off and rich, but the average citizens are spiritually and even materially poor in hindsight. Whats worse is that your average person is well aware of this (water is wet!), but still dwells in this delusion of opulence and prosperity to comfort themselves instead of face the harsh reality and push for change.

Materialism is the religion of America, it keeps us in false comfort whilst the engine is blowing smoke. At what point does the "comfort" stop being worth the price of the soul?
