Getting back a refund of 9700.00.

This also entitles me to 200.00 in tax free money every month for life.

Hurray boys, probably gonna open a account to deposit the money into, the bank has options for disabled people to save money in a locked account till they're 60.

I see, do you have a medical condition which impairs you from being able to work? I don't know what A DTC is nor do I grasp the entirety of your context.
disability tax credit, it lowers taxable income, once approved they retroactively go back the last ten years and any years worked where taxes were paid they dredit back the difference as if you had the tax credit then, it also entitles one to 200.00 a month of tax free money till 65, for "the costs associated with living with a disablity", it also gives access to a special savings account for retirement where the government will handsomely matc anything the applicant puts in to a point, it cant be withdrawn till 60 years old and can be paid into until 49, the max amount one can put in each year is 1500.00, 1500.00 the government matches with 3500.00, so essentially investing 15 grand over ten years is worth 50 grand at 60 years old when its withdrawn.

I live in canada so its a canada only benefit.

That is very interesting, over here in America, you receive housing & welfare when they find your corpse on the street, only then do you have the privilege of living in a section 8 housing filled with criminals and whores.

There probably is benefits available its just most people dont usually know about them, like the DTC I got approved for most people here dont know about, if you're on government support you should ask your case worker about potential benefits you could be recieving, especially if you have a disability, even something like ADHD or autism could make you eligible.

Even check out your local mayors office and ask the receptionist about available programs for someone in your situation.

As to how America does it, I'm not sure. Though, that is a good idea to at least ask around.
