It might actually be over for good this time. Whether this is good or bad time will tell but I am terrified of the notion of /pol/-poisoned zoomers migrating onto other websites in numbers large enough to cause a crisis. I already saw a bunch of them on sharty, 8kun, Lainchan, and the other alternatives are not safe. It is beyond over if we have another Tumblr exodus on our hands. We need it back quickly to contain the spread

I have confidence that the site will be back up eventually. It's too culturally influential for people to ignore it and not invest their time into restoring it.

If and when it does it'll be a watered down shed of its former self trying to cash in on disgruntled zoomers. The site has been losing money for so long it's impossible to bring it back as it was and will have to make some compromises. This is good in that it contains that subset of newfags with low attention spans into their bubble and leave proper discussion for other places, but bad in that it'll probably scatter the community into different sites rather than different boards. If I know anything about newfag users, they're a lot like Sharty users. Extremely neurotic, parasitic, and annoying with very bizzare behaviour that can only come out of someone desperate for attention. If those make up the majority then the entire site will become micro /Pol/ and become extremely unenjoyable

I used to lurk on international which was a mistake. I miss /JP/ and the Touhou generals. I always wanted to try chatting there as a way of practicing Japanese but got lazy. It was the only place I could really discuss such a thing. What a shit hole. The slower boards like /VM/ were super cozy and I'll miss my boys on Mabinogi general. I didn't join their clan so now I have no way of contacting them ;_; same with the frens on Untranslated VN general and the drawthreads. I'm joyful the site is gone but there is a lot I will miss
