I know it's a common belief that aspies are black and white thinkers but as someone who has aspie tendencies socially which fuck me over massively when it comes to making social connections with normies, I am starting to have my doubts about aspies being black and white thinkers Perhaps I just assumed I was a black and white thinker based off the fact that the typical normie "go with the flow" way of socializing never resonated with me as I am constantly focused on measurable results regardless of whether that's in the social realm or more metric driven realms, however.., When it comes to the way I think and evaluate things, I am actually way more of a nuanced, read between the lines thinker than a black and white thinker. There are common tropes parroted on PSL/incel sites like "Just be Chad and you won't have X problem" or "Chad does X and girls approve, sub5 does X and girls disapprove" that appeal to the most simplistic kind of thinking because they lack all nuance and the entire rules of the belief are locked within one phrase / sentence with no extra explanation required. I would actually argue that the pushing of such tropes are more of a normie trait than an aspie trait and instead of breaking it down between black & white v nuanced thinking, I'd break it down as depth v no depth. In the PSL/incel forum sphere, no depth thinking has won out and I'm not sure if it's a case of aspies thinking one way and normies thinking another way, I think both are just as guilty of parroting tropes that require zero depth thought wise although I would say it's aspies who are more capable of thinking with greater depth but there are only a couple dozen of such posters left on forums within the sphere. In the earlier PSL days (2015-17) there were far more differing opinions with more depth and not just "Chad does X" which I believe was due to a higher ratio of nuanced thinkers compared to zero nuance parrots on the forum. But as the former got downed out by the latter with the space growing, it is nothing but the same old tropes being repeated non stop, year after year If the tag of being aspie is associated with being a black and white thinker, then I will abandon the aspie tag because it will no longer apply to me. If it's a case where black and white thinking is just a trait that most aspies AND normies are guilty of, then the differentiator between aspies and normies isn't whether they think in black and white terms and it needs to be defined by something else I saw it often on the forum's where users had a moment of realization where they admit that it's their social skills holding them back moreso than their looks, which would imply they lean towards being aspie, but the extent to which all of the users can blindly parrot the most basic of tropes in a bid to shut down all debate or opinions to the contrary, makes them seem like nothing but the most run of the mill, follow the popular opinion normies that you'll find After going through all this my conclusion is that there are only a fraction of a percentage of people within the population who pass the sentience threshold to avoid the tropes and think with about things with a decent degree of depth. They are the ones who make up a decent percentage of a newly formed community when a new concept is in it's infancy because they are better at recognizing reality. Then as more surface level normies flood in, the in-depth thinkers get driven out by insufferable normie parroting and debate style and become a non significant percentage of a movement they birthed so their new views get drowned out The core ideas then get bastardized and by the time the mainstream catches up, the world has changed and the opinions and beliefs are 10 years behind what is actually applicable to the world today
