Used to read a good amount in high school (in my early 20s now). I've always preferred fiction, and was burdened by a tendency back in those days towards a more elitist treatment of literature, but aging has freed me from these shackles, and/or, perhaps, I've freed myself. Therefore, I'm open to anything--novels, poetry, history, comics, children's literature, philosophy, spirituality, religion, science, etc. Perhaps the only exception would be books that are politically biased.

One of my biggest goals is to become a voracious reader, and have reading be an effortless constant in my life. Feel free to share anything for anyone.

For entertainment? Invincible comic series.

For spirituality? the quran/secrets of divine love

For poetry? Love is my savior my jalal-ad-din muhammad ar-rumi, or just "rumi"

For philosophy? Sophie's World, meditations by marcus aurelius (classic but good), critiques of pure reason by immanuel kant, groundworks of the metaphysics of mortals also by kant, the republic by plato. And finally, the revival of religious sciences and the alchemy of happiness by imam-al-ghazali.
