A while ago was readin criticism of AI from "artists".
Some legit, some less legit. I would say is mostly legit, and concerns are mostly valid.
But I dont think AI is the most immoral thing that happened in porn and art and gaming. There were things in my opinion more immoral than AI and nobody talked about it except me. And I talked about it at the cost of getting banned everywhere.
Tablet usage: Pen tablets enforced the usage of adobe products. Everyone lost style. All styles became very similar to one another. Sure, you could counter my argument saying that you can customize brushtip and brush engines and get nerdy and so on. Its true but the effect is real, anytime you touch the pentablet you end up doing something in a style that is very repetitive. And some people embraced this type of style, and they came up with ideas that are good and they are clever illustrators.
But the majority doesnt overcome the limitation of tablet, and it makes me think is mostly a disservice and hinders people. If an experienced artist uses a tablet and he has means to compare it to other art lessons he learned in the past, I am sure he can derive some good clever uses of it. Not so sure about people who begin their art journey on a tablet.
Also, line stabilization isnt "bad" but its not the kind of cheat you have to use lightly. And by that I mean use it how much you like, but its objective that the styles are kinda all the same once someone starts listening to art advice on youtube.
And lastly, tablet users swamped the comic-con. And elderly into comics now are cast out. Like, at mantova comics the tablet users acted like bullies. Seemed some sort of generational warfare going on, its harmful and useless. There shouldnt be such a petty fight. Nerds have to unite on common interests like decensoring hentai.
Daz studio and asset flipping: Daz is the reason all porn looks the same. People exported from Daz some general model and others used some vagina inserts. Then they spammed them, and its impossible to not find the usual daz body in any model collection website. Every single body is the standard daz body. Not that is wrong or bad or anything, is simply is used literally everywhere.
Daz renders are also shit, they look bad and uncanny even if the tech used is surprisingly high tier and new, but the results are the crappiest things that look worse than ps2 graphics. No idea why.
Asset flipping also creates incoherent environments where everything looks off putting and nothing checks out. You get wrong texel density, wrong texture sets, different pbr models, wrong dimensions, wrong polygon density, incomplete texture packs, wrong styles mixed all together, collages of inconsistent pieces.
Also, rigs are all the same, almost none is designed around porn. All body difference you see is done with morph targets. Daz bodies are also massive, they are files tat sometimes are gigabytes, which created the mythology that you need top tier Nvidia graphics to run these files. Then you get pose packs and hair pack and clothing pack and expression packs. Its a recipe to encourage lazy people, it is worse than AI because with AI you can use means of analogy to describe what you want.
AI can also allow you to be consistent. Instead on DAZ you be disregarding anything consistent simply to achieve a fast result. It does not have to be this way, but oftentimes when you build systems with sliders and parameters you end up welcoming normies who are very lazy. And these normies tend to encourage the bad habits and the easy shortcuts.
I think if you start with AI is best. All of a sudden you achieve automated mass content that can be coherent. Obviously, all the criticism of AI is also valid. Wanted to simply focus on another perspective.
