You're talking about Depresso here to clarify. The way I understand it is a lot of Gen Z and younger end up fragile because the entire system in Europe and the West is against them (and us as well), but they grew up with zero success to fall back on. Bad school experience, mediocre grades, no real job, no education, no girlfriend, parents up their ass, no way to escape being a dependent NEET. So they end up with victim complexes and act like whiny bitches.

They whine in their threads, you call them out on it, tell em to pull their chins up with some insults and banter thrown in to jolt them out of their malaise. But I'm starting to realize they can't take any criticism of that nature. Can't take a joke. They think you're an asshole, when really you're just trying to motivate them in the same way our forefathers would motivate us. Definitely a Millenial - Gen Z schism here. Maybe an American vs European difference as well.

Just an aside from main thread topic… I’ve noticed how much of nu-zoomer culture today is very cynical and sardonic in nature. Post-modernity gives people a reason to be dismissive of others or even abandon those values which are pro-social and pro-civilisational in the first place. Obviously, it reflects the times but it is concerning how wide-spread and how many people have submitted to these kinds of conclusions. Idealism is essentially dead.

Previous generations were generally more hopeful and sincere.

It happens. I'm far from perfect myself. There's probably a few times in the past I've gotten on the wrong side of people here who didn't deserve it (and a few who did), an inadvertent insult here or there, a misunderstanding that results in stepped-on toes, me getting caught up in the moment or nerding out on something. Even though that was not my intention. Only much later do I realize what had happened. And then too late to properly correct or apologize. So sorry anyone, if that's you.

Life goes on. When it happens to me, I can usually let it go after a few minutes. Water under the bridge. More difficult to ignore someone when it is relentless though. I even made the mistake of letting someone get under my skin for a little too long recently, despite having tempered my general emotional detachment over the years.
