It's pretty obvious most of us here would have a substance addiction, ranging from hardcore drugs to energy drinks or caffeine.
I'm curious - if you're comfortable disclosing such information - do any of you have a substance addiction?
Personally, I have an addiction to cigarettes and caffeine. I tend to drink x2 or x3 energy drinks a day and also smoke up to a pack of cigarettes a day. Obviously, given I'm a hikikomori on disabilitybux, I have to smoke the black market cigarettes; but it's good enough as I'm only paying $70-$120 a fortnight for a carton of smokes, whereas the legal cartons are upwards of $300. (Rip-off!)
I used to have an addiction to vaping but I gave that up.
I did go cold turkey on cigarettes once. When I was locked up, I was offered a tobacco patch to help ease the cravings, but I declined it and honestly, I quit just like that - I had cravings and got irritable, but I quit so easily. I figure if I wasn't so bored all the time nowadays, I could do it again. But at the moment, cigarettes are my cope.
I'll probably quit again eventually. Honestly, I can't remember why I took the habit back up. I think it was partially because cigarettes give me a "warm" feeling and it was the dead of winter + the alluring prices of black market cigarettes. Nowadays, I just smoke because I'm bored.
C'est la vie.
This Apu is literally me most nights.
