After a long week of wage slaving, I slept in today a good 11 hours or so, as fierce dreams held me captive in slumber. In one of the dreams, I was walking down the main boulevard the leads out of my neighborhood, and there's section where the ground is steep on either side of the roadway with rock retaining walls, with a stairway leading up to one hillside overlooking the city and the coast. So I followed it, and unlike in reality, in my dream there was a brutalistic concrete tower with a metallic spiral staircase leading to a windowed observation deck. I felt pulled up the stairwell and a metallic doorway at the top automatically opened upon my presence inviting me in. Inside, there were two uniformed military people sitting in front of a bunch of futuristic holographic displays. Suddenly, an alarm went off and one of the displays showed what looked like a massive tsunami and a top it an ominous dark rolling cloud filled with ash moving into the bay towards the city. Arcs of lighting shot from the storm cloud. As it reached the coast, these giant monsters appeared from the deep and moved on to the shore. They looked like grotesque, elephant sized tardigrade's, and they moved as fast as a rhino. They began to attack people, biting into them and sucking out their liver's, leaving the victims to bleed out. Screams of terror filled the air as people began to flee in panic. The city was being over run. I knew I had to get out of there, so I started running, looking for an unlocked vehicle with keys in the ignition I could commandeer. But to no avail, I could not find anything. I kept running, jumping over guard rails and climbing over chain-linked fences to get away as fast as I could. Then I approached some glass and steel sky scrapers, and decided to run inside one of them, up to the rooftop. There, I joined a group of people observing the chaos below and I began talking to them. At that point, I realized we were all Elysian Fields members, kindred spirits reunited, and we began to calm down and discuss what was transpiring amongst each other. Someone brought up a cardboard box containing snacks and beverages and I grabbed a canned energy drink and cracked it open.
