Videogame Empire total war

Been playing this on and off and it hasn't gotten old for me yet, so far I like the basic mechanics, but it gets to a point where once you get all the technologies, have more money coming in then you could lose it becomes easy play at that point, that and I wish they had the feature's they had used during Napoleon total war, the warfare is fun to watch as you see lines and lines of troops shooting volleys at one another. Have any of you played it with or without mods?
