I live on 20 acres about an hour from town, long self stable goods, multiple structures on my land, generators, fuel, cars, guns, if I last 2nd loner then you it would be worth it. Stay mad brokie.

Really? Does that mean you don't ever have to go out? As in like, you have full independence and don't need to go places? :o

I volunteer at a local fire department and do church things but I mean I don't have to but I do. I'm not currently farming the land other then a small house garden. Still logging and making so the land is more usable.

I too wish to volunteer some day, possibly at animal shelters because I adore dogs.

It's fun for me, if you ever wanna do stuff like that look into something called NIMS. NIMS provides a consistent, nationwide template for incident management regardless of size or complexity. Most classes are free online and it would be useful in terms of getting your foot in the door with some places. During an emergency or natural disaster and if FEMA is involved it would be really helpful with that and you always wanna be in the helping side. I don't know much about helping at animal shelter but it sounds like a good thing to aim for!

That's so interesting. It seems there are so many ways one can learn to be helpful in case situations arise.

I also heard some people get certificates for first-aid emergencies and whatnot so that they can help in case situations arise (someone choking or the like). Very interesting! I will look into it :D

Yeah I got my certificates through the fire department it was free that way but you can find free classes around. In an emergency situation you want to be useful in some way not just for your own safety but for the safety of those around you and that you care for. A lot of local safety conventions happen under most people's noses and have a lot of good stuff and networking i.e making friends with lots like minded or good hearted people. Pictures related.

Well as true as that is, personally I have no problem with being ready or most anything and helping out my community.
