Help How would you go about cutting someone off?

I think being direct might be the best route for someone I find too bothersome/toxic. Wouldn't want to ghost someone and leave them without closure. No need to beat around the bush with people you don't want to deal with. But also don't want to justify with valid reasons why they were cut off.

What do you think would be the best course?

I'd say this is a valid option but if you are more closer to them and interact with them regularly maybe it's better to be direct.

If you see them IRL or will be constantly interacting with them might as well say it outright because it'll be awkward since you'll basically be hanging out with them out of obligation

With my fiance, we promised each other not to do that. I was tempted to last year but we ironed it out.

I used to do it directly. Say exactly why and discuss it that day but ignore everything after that. but like half of people don't take it well, even to the point they pull up to my house where my mom let them in.

Ideally you'd phase them out slowly or do something that makes them not want to fuk wit u, a small loan of money works sometimes
