And it was fine, I could do this for the rest of my summer break.Until today where I said how I thought about going to a foundation dedicated to socializing and having fun with people my age (19) and he then goes onto this tangent about how at my age he worked his ass off and only slept 3 hours a day, how he hates people and could live off better without running the shop but he does it because he wants to serve God by developing his elaborate soil humidity sensor and leaving a mark in the world like Nikola Tesla, how he worked alongside top rich people in the country, how engineers need to learn hands-on stuff more than ever now, etc.Even if he had points here and there, it all seemed very pretentious to me, with some savior complex on top. At that point, it&#039;s like I&#039;m only there to validate his mindset where suffering relentlessly is the only way to build a good life. There&#039;s a difference between pain that grows you and pain that just bruises you, and it felt like the latter.So I just left. At least quitting was simple.</blockquote>
