I think what has happened to dogs is incredibly sad. Imagine if you took humans and just bred them specifically to be dwarfs with down syndrome that are basically enslaved to you because you've trained their brain to dump the equivalent of a heroic dose of cocaine when they register your face, and then glamorizing dog ownership as if it's something sacred. It's really metal because it represents the complete and total enslavement of a species, its features, bloodline and future, all for the petty whims of humanity which are the functional equivalent of cosmic horrors in the animal kingdom.
