Male male competition in animals leads to more sexually dimorphic males and women are more hypergamous and want stronger genes for their offspring
In Europe and Africa there was much of this.
But in Asia people are less aggressive (lower crime rates, less chimping out), and social harmony is prioritised. So that led to less dominant sexually dimorphic males and thus is why their SMV is lower than that of European and African males.
