In Israel, abortion is only permitted if

the woman is under 17 or over 40, if she is unmarried or conceived out of wedlock, if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest, if the child is likely to be born with a physical or mental defect, if the pregnancy endangers the mother's life or is likely to cause her physical or mental harm. If the applicant does not meet at least one of these conditions, the abortion will be refused.
