Do you guys really think it's all just about looks? Isn't there more to it? I mean, why does your brain get obsessed with one specific girl and not another? There must be more than just physical appearance at play, right? Sure, there could be things like pheromones or lack of dating options, but when I think about the "oneitises" I’ve seen men develop, they're often not for the most conventionally attractive girls. So what makes the brain fixate on one person specifically?

I've noticed something interesting about all of my own "oneitises": none of these girls had a paternal figure in their lives. When I thought back on it, this pattern stood out. Was it just a coincidence, or is there something deeper going on? :pepealarmed

While looks are definitely the most prominent of the factors that play into attractiveness and relationships, I think that the more time you spend with a person you love, even if they're average looking or slightly below average, they become beautiful to you over time. My issue is that looks are kind of what open that door for you, my biological father was a broad-shouldered, good looking and tall man but my mother sees him for the monster that he is. I do believe looks let you get away with so so so many things that you wouldn't be able to get away with if you were average or ugly, and as cliche or bluepilled as this may sound, no looks for your character, morality and virtue.
