it’s funny how friendship works out

I have a very strong bond with this one guy I know, and I genuinely like him a lot. He’s kind of inactive these days but it’s great when we have a conversation, I always look forward to us talking
We just genuinely fit together really well

The funny part is he’s sort of the opposite of me when it comes to certain values, and in some ways he embodies an archetype I tend to despise

Yet I still like him so much

Perhaps its not conviction, if one is pleasant to be around and they make their ideas clear and yet do not come off as offensive or intend to challenge you, we would tend to find that person likable even if they are not agreeable. Even the most absurd ideas can sound lavish and reasonable if delivered in such a way that pleases the mind and treads lightly on our vanity. You like the conversations you have and you like him as a person and you spend time together and when you two are away you anticipate his return; so even when he is gone you want him around, when he is present you are left better off after having conversated with him.
