Reasons for pursuits of a human are vague and unclear. He doesn't seek answers only satisfaction. He doesn't seek change only escape from suffering. There is great confusion and noone is free from their conditioning. Only way people can help themselves is realising the truth of where they are and what they truly want in the current moment. To realise it they need to momentarily see past their conditioning. That means they need to defy their knowledgability. It seems to me that only thing you can do to help is negate someone by ignoring, confuse them by questioning and being silent is the best advice you can give.
