"Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy that flourished in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.[1] The Stoics believed that the practice of virtue is enough to achieve eudaimonia (Happiness): a well-lived life. The Stoics identified the path to achieving it with a life spent practicing the four virtues in everyday life: wisdom, courage, temperance or moderation, and justice, and living in accordance with nature. It was founded in the ancient Agora of Athens by Zeno of Citium around 300 BC."

"It’s important to realise that letting go of desire doesn’t mean not taking opportunities when they present themselves, nor being unable to enjoy them when they happen. On the contrary, this is about letting go of expectations and obsessive thought. Stay in the present, enjoy what you have now. It may be unfair that you don’t have or are offered more, but anger and frustration will only harm you. Remember: You do not physically hurt. The pain is in the mind." -SergeantIncel

Both schools of philosophy are strikingly similar to each other.
