America is the best country in the world.
Basically Neo-Rome. Guys like Washington, Jefferson and Madison were instrumental in creating a country that strove toward a new kind of equality. It's the
United States, a new republic of the ages, it's
New Atlantis. For what it's worth I don't think another country on earth has the staggering amount of racial heterogeneity of the U.S or the diversity of freedoms. As a red-blooded American male it makes me proud to live in such a free society. Free markets. Free trade. Freedom of speech. Free migration (well, it used to be, but that's another story...) It's basically disentangled from old power structures, which is what makes it superior.
I remember riding down in my Chevy on the 66 in the 90s without a care in the world. Being able to coast along endlessly is pure chill. The roads are bigger than life itself (you can literally drive for hours undisturbed on those Santa Monica freeways, and all you see are some tumbleweeds and a couple of gas stations), and the
cars? Man, don't get me started. Everything's bigger and better in the U.S.A, my friend!
And yeah, there are crime-laden areas. It's a hallmark of globalization failing to pick up national industry in decline. That's business! Don't even get me started on Detroit...
