I went out for dinner with my sister and her boyfriend and some of our family last night for my sister's birthday. Her boyfriend immediately noticed my shirt and said, "I like your Sam Hyde shirt." So we talked about Sam Hyde for a bit and my sister and other family were like, "Who's Sam Hyde?" and we just said, "Oh, it's a niche internet meme." He explained it a bit - about how Sam is used to troll the media whenever there's a happening and how he made a fool of iDubbbz the Cuck. Is my sister's boyfriend secretly a /pol/ chud, too? It wouldn't be the first time I've run into a normal, relatively fit and healthy guy who was used to use or actively uses /pol/, kek. My old social worker used to use it too. We would often joke about how we're going to go out and bash a bunch of Aboriginals while recording it. He was a normal guy, too - had a kid and a girlfriend (the mother of his child, so no separation there). It's funny - 4chan users that I know IRL or have met via the internet (either IRL or online) are 8/10 times the most normal men or women ever. Whereas Redditors are 2/10 times fairly normal. It's just crazy that 4chan has this reputation that it's full of a bunch of neckbeard losers, but Reddit is seen as the "normal" and "high-functioning" imageboard, when the complete opposite is true, at least anecdotally. I dunno, just strikes me as odd.
