Discussion Should we take pride in anything?

And it goes like... No one should take pride in being "mentally strong," because, after all, it is just a matter of how lucky we are regarding the circumstances in which we have to fight. Have you ever dared to consider that maybe life has given you what you are capable of enduring, and if it gave you a little more, you would kill yourself? Effort, discipline, and hard work depend on the conditions of your environment. We all have limits; it's just that life doesn't challenge them for everyone.

Maybe, who knows, but we shouldn't take pride in anything at all. Why should we? What is it about life that makes it worthwhile to be someone "proud"? There are many factors that escape us, that end up factoring into the total result of what happens, but if those weren't there, what would happen then? How much shall you strip from someone until they stop achieving those things which make them feel proud, so that you shall show them that nothing depends on them at all?
