The way they speak to each other is rapid fire and automatic, especially in group settings. If you’re someone with a neurodivergence that makes interacting socially more difficult, one thing I noticed many times is when these people are having their usual rapid fire discussion/conversation, and you try to bud in and participate yourself, there’s a very noticeable disruption or “break” in their interaction occurs. They’ll go from running their mouths about whatever to suddenly being surprised that you said something and they’ll ask you to repeat yourself either because they didn’t hear you or because they were so immersed in their own discussion that what you said didn’t register the first time (as if you were never there). I’ve experienced this many times.
