Interesting discussion. I had difficulties liking starwars because it struck me with loads of images I considered evil. And I didnt have any analytical means to express why I consider it bad.

Even now, I can only tell you that it looked to me an apple store propaganda, plus lego aesthetics. Im not saying it looks bad, every single one of these movies looked good for the time it came. But it had that distinct apple vibe, for some reason.

I also detest apple, apple store, apple experience. What reminds me the most abuot apple is star wars for some reason. Its as if the 2 things were linked somehow.

I find it sith names are always a mockery of who the person used to be pretty apt.



He isn't a bad writer, he's a bad speaker I think and that not a knock locks to people don't do well in the moment.

Honestly, I think that the way this was introduced is easy to overlook, you don't really think about that detail.

In the original trilogy Lucas had help from some good cats specifically Joseph Cambell, who studied mythology and was able to contribute to the movie, specifically the heroes journey which I believe what the first movie is based on.

Basically, if there is a 'reason' for something it either has to be true or at least makes sense for whatever the scene is. Most of the original trilogy in part when the force is mentioned, you don't see it, but it is possible to its capabilities, such as Yoda or the dark side cave; I think that to a lesser extent the force and the dark side is not entirely important so to speak, more or less what you see as a result. Vader, the emperor, Luke, Yoda and Obi won how the emperor acts as a temptor near the end, including Vader.

I'm going to be honest, I bet Lucas thought people would want to know what the force was outside space magic feeling and all. Plus, it gave them a reason for wanting to take Anakin with them. So the line makes sense, but going to be honest. Keeping it somewhat vague, and making it a Jedi/Sith secret would been better. Something not confirmed but always hinted post Jedi purge.
