I think you have an excellent point about pursuit of intelligence, morals and so forth in society. I agree that these are the hallmarks of a healthy society and I would most certainly not want to live in a world full of degenerate back-stabbing. Genetics sounds succinct but eugenicists often eschew the massive role of environmental toxins in altering healthy gene expression and the effect pesticides/endocrine disrupting chemicals have on the microbiome which is also responsible for (epi)genetic expression. Our entire eco-sphere is polluted with forever chemicals that alter genetic expression now. 'Eugenics' is a silly concept in the context of modern science because 'looks', 'intelligence', 'height' and 'behavior' are polygenic and are applied non-linearly in offspring. Furthermore such traits take millions of years to noticeably be altered through genetic trends. Most modern men look poisoned because they are being poisoned (by heavy metals, xenoestrogens and other environmental toxins). Is a woman going to prefer a sickly, poisoned male to a healthy one? Genetics is kind of a meme in that genetic engineering biotechnology companies almost always flop, leading them to extol the awe-inspiring, omnipotent power of genomes in an attempt to appeal to investors. It has its use-cases in that gene therapies are great for eliminating single-gene mutations responsible for disease (like sickle-cell anaemia), but the polygenic effects on phenotype are not well understood. In fact, these traits seem to be increasingly more linked to microbiotic inheritance than genetic, with strains like Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus increasing IGFP-1 and BDNF expression respectively through their pathways, leading to the humorous observation that drinking milk in childhood will indeed predispose someone to tallness..! In any case a much more feasible approach for increasing bodily fidelity is trans-humanism which is certainly being pushed.
