The constant comments about aging, realizing x event/product/whatever happened/came out/so on 10, 15, 20 years ago, talking about people born in y year being z age It’s not really those external markers as much for me… well, sometimes maybe it’s mostly just my own age, the years passing by Another year has passed by and I’m only getting older… Jesus it’s depressing When you’re young you can cope that you have your whole life ahead of you, that oh whatever I don’t like about myself/my life now doesn’t matter because I’ll change it tomorrow, in 6 months, next year Imagine all those looksmax kids who think they’re going to become David gandy after getting plastic surgery, for example As the years pass that cope fades away and you start to be hit with reality more and more. Of course, you can be 30 or even 40 and keep coping and believing. I remember in the short time period I wageslaved, this like 30ish year old normie was telling me about how next year he’s going to go into some new career or something.. and it was obvious to me that he wasn’t really going to do anything, he’d been working the same shit job for the last 10 years or something after all Still, I remember as a kid whenever I’d read biographies of someone I was interested in, a Wikipedia page or something, I’d always feel a little bad for them if they achieved whatever they wanted late in life. Of course, they still ended up mogging the vast majority of people, but even then it stuck out to me Nobody envies the rich old bald boomer It is what it is
