Basically this one girl in the class was going on to her friends saying stuff like: "Out of all my 7 classes this class is an absolute fucking joke. It's really boring but at the same time so easy I don't even have to bother. Like she doesn't even teach us anything or give us any work. She just sort of tells us write a story about this topic blah blah blah or whatever, but she doesn't do anything beyond that. At this point why bother doing the work in her class, why not just do it as homework? A perfect class to just be on our phones and fuck around." Not necessarily in those exact same words as obviously my memory isn't that good, but those are the general ideas she expressed.
And then in the middle of when the girl was saying that stuff, the teacher stopped her midspeech and said in a calm but firm tone: "Hold up hold up right there. I'm not deaf, I've been hearing everything you said this whole entire time. From what I'm getting at this is an attack on ME and the way I run my CLASS?"
Then the girl tried to act all innocent. "No no no it's not that at all I was just making jokes to my friends!"
Then the teacher repeated in a louder, stricter tone: "NO! Don't try to fool me, I am not stupid, THIS IS CLEARLY AN ATTACK ON ME AND THE WAY I RUN MY CLASS!"
Then the girl, borderline crying was like: "No no no I'm so sorry if I offended you this was not my intention at all!"
Then the teacher was like: "Come on, let's go outside of the class and have a little talk." And that's what happened. I couldn't hear what they were saying outside though, unfortunately.
And when they came back into the class the girl was red faced and crying with tears all over her face.
And it was like...damn, I was so proud of that teacher. Standing up for herself and not letting spoiled teenagers abuse her.
PS, the way she run her class was perfectly fine considering the context of the subject of her class. It was a writing class. What the fuck do you expect? She gives you the pointers, tells you what you should write about and what you should do and not do while writing, and then you proceed to do the writing for most of the class period. A lot of the writing were long projects that were supposed to be like 30 pages long or so, so she gave you a long time to do it during her class so there's no pressure.
