I’m basically wasting my life away doing nothing and I’m already nearing my late 20s. I see my situation as hopeless but think to myself I might be wrong so I keep going, however as a consequence I am in a perpetual state of "waiting for my real life to start" as I remain powerless to fix my current situation.. I’m just waiting for something to happen that could miraculously improve my dreadful situation.

Imagine you're an anime character and the writers are preparing it to happen. Foreshadowing. For now, you're stuck in a shitty filler arc. No point in doing anything with no plot continuity. Meet someone, and what? are they gonna be in the next arc? If they're not in the manga they're not coming back.

As a man in good physical condition you'll survive if you make it through the first 6 months. Be strapped, have access to long-term stocks of food, a way to filter water and immediately prepare for waves of looters fanning out from the city. They will all starve to death and the elements of the millitary loyal to Trump's successors and not the deep state will establish martial law - if you can survive, that is.

I'm a lot younger than OP but as time passes you just get more and more numbed to everything and stop giving a shit
@PointOfNoReturn can probably attest to how I've changed in the 2-3 years since I've known him (was your age then) better though

Im trying to disappear eventually (not death) but it will take some time. just have to do it slowly. my family might care a bit to look for a awhile but would forget and move on eventually. Im tired of wasting my youth but i don't wanna become a brainwashed slave like them and rejoin our society, pretending to be normal and slowly dying copeing with lies like most people do. I know way way to much then I should.

It does tbh but for a lot of people (like me), it takes/will take so long to the point that it feels like all hope is lost.
