Book I'm reading right now is Rayuela by Julio Cortazar. The words are nice, they light up a part of my brain I thought had been left in abandon, the part which can appreciate Oulipo autism without fully parsing the abstractions. Though if I were to point to one essential masterwork, I'd recommend Sasha-chan to Classmate Otaku-kun by Haguhagu. It is the greatest work of our time, nothing else can compare. Everything else will pale. The Sashaverse wins out over the Rabbitverse.
