The problem with this is that the payoff takes many years

You work your ass off young but start to make money and work less as you age, 15ish years in you get executive privileges which are really nice especially when traveling and stuff

The alternative is transitioning to another finance field after your first couple of years

It’s not necessarily something primed for early retirement, like say CS, where you have low stress work and make a good but mostly flat amount (a lot in stocks too) and can work remote

The whole point of banking is to make 7 figures a year and enjoy executive lifestyle in your 30s
Otherwise no reason to choose it over similarly paying fields like CS
