I am "involuntarily celibate", but I understand that that definition can't be used with any real precision. I don't know, I think it's one of those states where you "just know" if that makes sense. For one I am incapable of interacting with women. I don't think that's the same as just being "love-shy". I don't share any of their attitudes though, I like to form my own judgements on these things, even if there is a bit of unintended overlap. If you had been in a relationship then that's proof that you have what it takes, or meet some nonarbitrary criteria. An incel is someone who has never had the opportunity to "grease their gills", he's alien to it all, his "inceldom" is a consequence of generally being washed out from the social organ. At least that's the case for me. I live in a banlieue-styled area. A lot of local ownership has been gutted by township bureaucracy (high number of immigrant populations), reconverted into apartment blocs and roads which taper on endlessly. There's a town center, but that's mostly for older people. There are bars too, but people don't go there, or the people that do go there are much older or aren't looking to talk to you. It's almost as if my current circumstances were the product of an error in urban planning. I don't have any connections to old highschool friends anymore, and even in university I never took up the quest for "social mobility", I sort of hung my head in defeat and ended up washed out from academia. Anyway, identifying as an incel is usually an admission of defeat. Of course I can't predict where I'll end up in a few years, so maybe that'll change.
