I think the term 'suicidal people' is a bit of a misnomer, they wouldn't be 'breathing and digesting' because they would have done it already. I'd argue a person isn't suicidal until they have committed to and are in the midst of carrying out the act.

Yeah survival instincts plays a role, but i think if people are open about being suicidal then they aren't suicidal
