Not any event in particular but I love reading about stranded at sea incidents or stories of sailors being held captive, and whatnot. The idea of being on a remote island for years with no clue when help would be coming is cool as hell. Long before the advent of electronic to reach out for help, and when most of the world wasn’t even mapped out yet.

Always found 20th century African history interesting, Africa was still relatively unexplored and the adventures from the explorers are fascinating. Would highly recommend Scouting On Two Continents which is a great account of early 20th century adventures.

Yeah reading about sailing or naval history can be interesting. I was recently reading about Ferdinand Maximilian's expedition to Ottoman Albania in 1853

Also this is unrelated to history, but I also like horror stories and reading creepypastas about the ocean
