Not for me, 2 years in too and actually starting to get shit done in my life for the first time ever. If I held a job I wouldn't have the energy to do so.

I think it's hard to set rigid boundaries and goals when the future is so indefinite as a NEET, at least I am feeling quite nihilistic going forward.
People who say that you can cultivate a desire independent of external validation are just copers, I think that the dopamingeric reward system requires anticipated reward to actually function properly; there doesn't seem to be any practical reason to learn anything with how existential some future questions posed are; not to mention most NEETs are a product of social defeat, defeating them.
My understanding is that normal people generally do not put much thought into any aspect of their life and instead follow a path that would appear 'predestined' to both themselves and people on the fringe in comparison, things and being are the great questions of people who have to reckon with their suboptimal bio-social factors forcing them into extant boundaries of the fringe as a coping mechanism.

We need a new bastion for NEETscheans and wacky schizo-babble because it's the only content on the internet with SOUL.

It depends on your own brain chemistry. A lot of great work was done by hermits and schizos historically. A lot of scientists had pretty groundbreaking work but took a long time to publish it.
It depends on your motivation and upbringing. The problem is that, these days, you can’t really be a scientific hermit like that anymore, 90% of work is done in teams and we have gotten so far you need to be hyper specialized to have a real impact.
Anyway, regardless, for plenty of other things, I think the internet can provide plenty of validation, and you can still be NEET. Eg, posting music online, or publishing a game.
The internet makes collaboration with others while being a recluse a lot easier, even on some sort of professional team working on programming for example. But actual success here depends on your iq and work ethic of course.

This is true to an extent, but I’d say it’s less so about normal in the sense of actual incel/weirdo and more so passion or some other word that I can’t think of exactly right now. Most people realize sooner or later that they aren’t particularly good at anything, and/or they don’t have a passion for anything in particular. Sometimes when they have the second but not the first it’s pretty brutal obviously.
My point is normies accept this and say, well you know what, that’s fine. They then take a job that they don’t absolutely hate, and the focal point of their lives is their friends/family/relationships in general
