"Third place" being somewhere apart from home or shool/work to meet people or socialize

Gym, Cafe, church etc

Obviously people go there, but you hardly ever build social bonds there. If you drift apart from your highschool buddies, everything happens online

For an irl third space to be worth-while it has to beat what online has to offer

This is why the internet won in terms of socialising. You can actively filter out people and don't have to constantly blue ball yourself with a front to maintain an image. Not that you don't have to keep a reputation, but if it is broken you can just walk away and forget about it. Irl it can end up a legal problem. Some say this is bad because it discourages people from challenging their beliefs or interacting with new things but idk

Most mainstream groups (that aren't filled with 80 IQ third worlders) are filled with reddit troons, anything edgy is either an sfcel group or blackpill groups. Most sfcel groups fucking suck, it feels like racism went from sort of high brow to really low brow. A few years ago, most racists were surprisingly knowledgeable about various ethnic groups, yet now most don't even know that North Africans aren't black. They also take themselves way too seriously and are filled with foid worshipping simp cucks. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against racism, but idk, I just hate the average sfcel I guess.
Blackpill of course has its own set of problems that are discussed endlessly on here.
Everything niche got normified tbh, and somehow the semi normies are a million times worse than actual normies.
Oh well, it is what it is. At least some spaces like this are chill.

In other words people have become too extreme. Because the internet is built on engagement and rage rather than anything genuine, the only way to stay attached to an online community is to keep a consistently extreme position. SFcels would lose interest at reading any genetic data because they don't care, they just want to feel better saying Nigger. I would argue though that this just a matter of the internet becoming a reflection of real life. In 99% of cases the general public is retarded compared to a few highly educated people in some cluster of a city. Life is inherently unequal. The internet simply gave this problem a digital face and gave everyone a voice. Being rational on the internet doesn't garner attention so it's absolutely useless to even try. No asking, only demanding. Everything is personal and emotional. No sense of abstraction whatsoever
