The devil suddenly started to feel asleep.
It wasn't tiredness—not really. It was something deeper. Heavy. Like hands pressing down on his skull from the inside, threading sleep through his mind like thick molasses. The kind of sleep that doesn’t come with dreams, only silence. And in that silence, something waited.

The room stank of cold fries and old grease.
Piles of McDonald’s wrappers clung to the floor like forgotten offerings. On the walls, runes had been carved, not painted—cut deep, bleeding shadow that writhed like insects beneath skin. They pulsed softly, almost in rhythm with the devil’s slowing heartbeat.
At the center, a single glowing computer hummed.
Sleek, perfect, humming in a tone just a half-step too low to be comforting. The screen flickered with code written in no language known to Earth. It called itself expensive, but no one could remember buying it. It just appeared one day. It listened. It watched.
Everything else in the room crumbled like dust. Worthless. Empty.
As if reality itself had been assigned value—and everything except that machine had been deemed obsolete. Even the devil’s claws, once sharp enough to rend souls, now felt like cheap plastic. All power flowed through the machine now. Through the runes. Through him.
His father's voice spoke—not aloud, but from inside the bone.


The computer flared. The lights went out.
The devil slumped forward.
And the clicking of a thousand teeth began in the dark.

You don't even need to contact a spirit to prove magick exists anyways. Placebo pills work, even when you know about them:

However, actively perusing getting a job and casting a spell for it work, will significantly increase the odds of you getting a job. A placebo pill that works in all aspects of life.

Even though this sounds silly, you need to actively believe the spell will work for it to work.

Thanks! I have never seriously considered spirituality but after reading into philosophy I think there is value in detaching yourself from a worldly way of viewing things. A lot of Guenon's writings talk about how spatial properties of our world are really just observable, material phenomena of a greater spiritual manifold that only a few select can abstractly visualize because it requires observing nature as it is without material preconception. Science then would be akin to measuring a rock to find 'hardness' and going into this long explanation about covalent bonds and Mohs scales without actually considering 'why is it hard?', 'why does hardness exist in this rock in particular, what is the base principle governing hardness?', 'why does such a distinction exist, why is the archetype of rock presented as hard?', I don't know if I got the point across but it's to do with the spiritual underlying principle of why a concept exists rather than the representation of it in a material plane; I do think the material world has made leaps and bounds which might muddle the waters with 20th century Guenonian metaphysic somewhat but I digress. Any esoteric society worth their salt loves spiritual traditionalism (I'm thinking of the Sufis, the Kabbalists, the Hermeticists).
