I only use local LLMs due to privacy concerns, so I can't tell you if horde/third party services are any good.

They are LLMs: Large Language Models.
They are basically an AI assistant like ChatGPT but different people made them.
They are developed by different corporations and have different strengths and weaknesses.

Llama is an AI made by Facebook/Meta.
o3 pro is the newest version of the ChatGPT AI by OpenAI.
Gemini 2.5 Pro is Google's AI assistant.
Mistral 2 Large is an AI developed by an independent corporation, Mistral.

The Magnum series is an AI developed by an independent team, attempting to replicate Claude (another AI assistant developed by Anthropic corporation).

Phi4 is the AI developed by Microsoft which is the corporation behind WIndows computers.

If you have a good computer with a good GPU, you can run AI models on your home computer. If you don't have a good computer you can access the AI assistants made by big corporations like OpenAI or Google, but all conversations you have with these models are not private, the corporations can see what you ask their assistants. They are useful because they can answer your questions, write for you and do basic research.

The Qwen and Deepseek merges are also pretty good for 'thinking' models. Though I tend to dislike thinking models because for most queries simple inference will suffice.
