Whether you like it or not, the hoarding of resources that was possible after the advent of farming in the fertile crescent 12,000 years ago led to men with less physical fitness being able to outcompete men with greater physical fitness in the game of reproduction thanks to their superior resources and status.

It is men who are pushing looks theory because young men with no money or status who are the ones who want to restore the natural hierarchy in which men who are fitter and better looking secure the women they feel they deserve, rather than these girls being secured by men who are less physically fit but have more resources and status

50 years ago the average young man could afford a house on his own salary, he could have decent status in the community from a basic job title because it afforded him the ability to start a family and provide for them
Today the average young man has no money or status, he has nothing but his looks therefore he wants to put an end to the potential for worse looking (older) men to take his age equivalent girl and wants looks to be the be all and end all for securing a girl since he has nothing else to offer her.

this will only create more incels and society will collapse at that pace. resources and status combined can beat out lookism sometimes and vice versa. Depends on what is more important to the individual. do you want 5 course meal every night or eat pop tarts for dinner living paycheck to paycheck with a guy looks will fade less then 10 years.
