Somewhat, basically a bunch of comic pros were purged from Marvel and DC due to not being woke or bending the knee. So they left and started making their own comics with their own ideas. Eric July was a comics fan that was calling out the woke changing and basically ruining classic characters or even trying to replace often the white male heroes with DEI replacements. So he ended up making a comic and made his own site for people to preorder it which blew up and made a million in around 24 hours ending with over 3 million. Basically giving him the funds to make his own comic book studio and warehouse controlling everything himself over selling the IP to a copro or giving them a share. Basically Kamen America and Rippaverse are two new IPs/studios that doing well and basically growing to slowly beome more mainstream. Kamen America is BIG in Japan, to the point it just got a Street Fighter Crossover Comic with Udon. As for Rippavese it's now popping out comics every 2 or 3 months and though they still doing preorders it's now a few weeks over a month or two. So they're not longer do million a comic pre-orders but they are selling current and older comics as they don't stop printing the old ones so people can catch up like manga.

Pretty much all the comics have been pre-orders. The only fundraising Eric has done that I can remember that was with Rippaverse was for the animation projects after people asked for it.
