There is no higher calling than autistically reading 19th century authors to look at their word choice and underlying frame of consciousness to see if they’re closeted Gnostics, Platonists or Hermetics. Each of them were fighting over which of those worldviews would win to be the dominant philosophical worldview of the scientific age. The Gnostics won and then gaslit everyone about this. This sounds super schizo so I’ll have to make a post going through how reputable historians actually support this argument.
