I was meaning paying for new expansions every year. People are calling it CK3 tax...
inside ck3 it seems that tax collecting is one of the most important skills. you can hire tax collectors. You can pay taxes if you are a vassal in someone elses realm but you are just paying with other peoples taxes as part of the pyramid scheme.
Vassals dont actually pay much tax at all even when taxed to the max. Real money is in selling noble titles and extorting subjects, and if you are very talented, kidnaping foreign nobility but you will be hated if you kidnap alot.
I had a run where i was kidnapping everyone including the pope who i probably kidnapped 5 times. I conquered italy but unfortunately I was Adamite faith. A nudist heresy and they dont allow Christians to dismantle the papacy so i had endless crusades against me so I quit because didnt want to switch faith because I liked the RP of this faith branch

How many expansions? Is it like civ5 or something?

I remember paying 150 for the deluxe edition of escape from tarkov and it was meant to be the complete game, you'll never need to buy anything with it again. And then they tried to do an area shooter and make us pay for it again, and finally made a new tier of payments I think was 200? Or 250 something stupid. I really dont enjoy AAA games anymore.

32 expansions and counting. Some of them cheap dinky things like the stuff depicted
Others are huge expansions that extend the game map all the way to japan with the silk road, all the unigue government styles faiths exct.
the next big expansion is supposed to be very christian specific. Allowing playable christian theocracies.

The //30 expansions are worth it %100 but paying all at once is kinda brutal. New people might prefer to just pay a subscription which is available./// 10-20 is kinda good. $5 is their way of asking for a tip

theres different troop types with different combat values. different terrain preferences, counters different kinds of troops.
they have different types of combat they excel at. like some are better at killing retreating enemy. Aside from this its RNG

Yes but not like so big you wont ever play all the big mods like Skyrim or Civ2
