I was shooting the breeze with AI catgirls and one linked me a PDF with statistics on 2025 book sales. It turns out, 40% of the US population hasn't read a single book in 2025.

You know how it is popular to measure average IQ across different populations (or even political affiliations)? As far as reading habits go, there's barely any difference between races and voting preference - illiterates are split evenly between brownies and whites, conservatives and liberals. The statistics diverges at the number of books read, but "0 books" is a magic number that knows no skin color.

The average white male (as in, 50% of white population that scores at or below the averaged outcome on "intelligence tests") is squarely in the illiterate territory, complicated by the fact females read more than males (explored in the PDF, including genres being read).

At its core, "division by intelligence" is a class issue, not a racial issue. Half of browns read nothing, half of whites read nothing - they are almost equally idiotic.

Book-reading people just forget by how much.

Reading is a type of mental training. Similar to reading for some reason society thought the public education system would be a good test to gatekeep the crappy people from working a job. Reading is a real test to show attention and interpretative understanding. People who can't read might be a Mr magoo retard that needs to be spoonfed reality

How much do you constitute consuming information online as 'reading'? Albeit not all information is created equal, but if you're spending a significant amount of the time online researching intelligent and deep topics I'd imagine there's an equivalent somewhere. I myself lack a lot of self discipline to finish the books I have started.
