Becoming a creative or author in 2025- basically impossible

It doesn’t make any sense. I feel flabbergasted.

I went to the bookstore today and basically saw a fuckload of shit that I knew I was never gonna be able to read and well this is when I realized that the amount of books in circulation at this point is so massive that it must be insanely difficult to become a writer. Assuming you are just a normal person you are probably competing against millions of high iq people, people who had good upbringings, people who just had an idea or shit they wanted to vomit out and write out because of their unique life situation. At this point to become a writer or creative you pretty much have to cater to some sort of fetish area where people consume content like crazy because the average book situation and probably art world is hyper saturated. I also don't think you can really upgrade books, a lot of ideas are fundamental and can't really be bettered so you're kind of screwed there unless you make some post modernist shit fest.

The problem is that as you cater to more and more extreme autists who only read shounen manga or some shit (for some reason they won't read anything else) the less people there are inevitably gonna be and basically you are just screwed. I don't think anyone can make a living off this. You may have to research into specific writing or art fandoms to look at the incomes and go for that or make a super attractive new niche but it's totally probably retarded. I can see why writers are the most depressed people and elliot rodger went er.

just set up your life to in the future so you be able to do a scholar humanities path and a retirement account, writing is a skill that peaks after 30+, and every writer knows this problem, its about wanting to be a writer despite having success or not, Brandon Sanderson and all other good writers teill this in their courses, writing is not a main career goal. Tolkien was a history teacher and so on, i will course psychology, history and minor on philosophy plus research roles while doing side gigs or after a carrer retirement, this means slowly writing books while studying the area you want(Rome, middle ages, fantasy etc) and turning into a full time thing later on.
I want to combine real warrior experience with academic work while prepping my writing carrer, not some average fantasy writer with generic plots, yeah you can probably do some side erotic thing if sells.
Can combine text games, decent painting ability to publish manga animated type, game writer.
Naofumi @Naofumi Did you choose writing or writing choose you?

I tried in 2017 and it is extremely difficult. Most readers are women and they want filler books with useless wording, and psychopaths as protagonists. Writers like Tolkien would not succeed in today's literary industry.
Good thing I migrated to games, because even if the world dont want my work, I can at least play it. With books you can't do too much after you finish it, because you already read it.

Im tryn do kid books bcause over time I invented lots of characters. I asked google gemini to give me some data. Now i do a kid story. I think is a market that is very bad bcause everyone is kidless, but lets not despair maybe i make 2000 bucks or maybe is zero.

I can always recycle it into a game, especially if I retain rights to use my own characters.

try to do dog related products. So women who fuck dogs buy them, and they feel accomplished in life. Sell also vibrators.

Contact a young female, an tell her to posture as a feminist doctor, you pay her 3000 bucks to write an article pretending as if she inventd the vibrator, telling lies because you invented it.

Women want to believe there are women with inventiviy and imagination, we should let them believe it so they buy our dildos
