On that topic I want to note that individuals (especially in their younger years) who are strongly invested in sports tend to develop traits which deliver strong outcomes regarding societal success and typical of a fit and competitive individual. It isn't for no reason that the archetypes of the 'Chad' quarterback and nerdy beta have persisted in popular culture; it's a phenomenon that plays out in real life.
Develop traits ?
Competitive sports are naturally selecting those who are innately “high T”, competitive, always ready etc. And it’s selectiveness starts to increase as the children in sports, develop. Thus further partitioning occurs because of a higher stress on innate genetic traits favourable towards competitive sport.
For example, a dude who was in them as a child drops out, because now everyone is bigger, taller, or higher T etc.
I would be very doubtful that sports create these kind of people, rather they attract them.
