This tendency to “chase away” depression by means of many tools ends up proving itself futile since depression is the normal thing, and the rare thing would be not to be depressed. In the end, all of its consequences are the result of the acquisition of this malignantly useless faculty called consciousness, an evolutionary error, something that should not be, but nevertheless is.
It brings with it a psychological tension that every person adorns with all kinds of beliefs such as God, religion, politics, family, and so on. In the end, not to look at the emptiness that is there hidden within each of us. We are no more than sophisticated plants floating on a rock in space. Most things in our body serve a purpose, the purpose of survival, but it seems that consciousness does not serve it exclusively as otherwise the amount of accumulated lucidity would not drive more than one into the abyss.
That is why depression is normal, because it is precisely in the consciousness that all kinds of malignantly useless psychological tensions are created that seem to self-reinforce themselves either in two directions: one that brings one closer to the abyss, and the other that brings one closer to a state of contemplation that is neither here nor there.
