glued to the box tv all night because anime aired at a scheduled time

Only the bangers got showed to a Western audience

FMA, Inuyasha, YYH, Kenshin, Blaech, Trigun. Was never into Dragon Ball cause they'd occasionally marathon it, pushing other series off for another week if you wanted to keep up with story.

If you missed an episode you had to get a synopsis from another fan irl

But most people I knew only kept up with Inuyasha and Bleach anyway

Back during justin.tv hay day someone had a channel called all kids out of the pool (a riff on adult swim) and latery they had there own site but it was just all adult swim all the time from the beginning with every promo and blip. It was really a good time back in the mega upload era.

That promo just revived a memory lol being woken up by their names repeating. Do you remember when toonami dropped daft punk music vids?

Last time I watched anime on television is when they were announcing the Trigun movies air date

Yes do indeed, I even remember watching toonami during the day and seeing outlaw star in the day room of the boys and girls club :3.

I haven't had cable in years to be honest and to be honest I don't even remember the last anime I watch :/

there was thread about something similar on .IS, except is was more so centered around early internet culture. I don't think it was just that the animes were better back then (Art style, OSTs, plots, no shitty tropes, etc.), but the fact that almost every anime wasn't always accessible, so people were more appreciative.
