When I was a teen I feared forgetting my current feelings once I grow up.
I knew it would probably happen because at the time I was forgetting what it felt like to be in kindergarten.
Forgetting what it really feels like to be you and forgetting happiness is the most debilitating thing.
As an adult you get a life crisis and try to find out who you are. Before you simply knew.
What I miss the most are the random moments of bliss and really laughing till my stomach hurt.
There is some advantages. Feelings become more rational and selective-you're not as easy to manipulate with the way you feel and have more free will.
Also being desensitised is useful in a life filled with suffering.
But going about your day mechanically like a robot? Greeting people simply out of habit? What is the point of living after losing an important part of yourself?
