I'd say it fell off when Light's father died. The final episode was good though so was Mikami. The androgynes thing with white hair was a weird character though.

A quality anime, rewatched it and in honest it doesn't lose its grasp to ensnare you in its story, its enough for you to watch, but you do want to know more. Overall, glad you liked it.

Overall its pretty freaking awesome sauce. Light Yagami is literally me when Im having a bad day but at the end of the day he was just a college student that was tripping. If you like those types of mastermind animes I totally recommend Code Geass bro or maybe Monster if you like super deep thriller flicks but I gotta warn you it gets kind of mind bending.

I'd say that was my least favourite part, too. It was boring.
I liked Near more than others, but I definitely preferred L.

Give the manga a read, if you're able to. I don't know if it's hard to get a physical boxset of it nowadays since I got mine about ten years ago now.
I won't spoil the manga's ending, but it definitely felt like it had more closure than the anime.
